The dimensional accuracy of IKO CAM FOLLOWERSis shown in table 2. They are manufactured to JIS class 0 on rotational accuracy and with C2 radial clearances.

(1) All IKO CAM FOLLOWERS and IKO SEALED CAM FOLLOWERS WITH ECCENTRIC STUD came with grease nipples (see Table 3), grease plugs and nuts.
(2) All IKO CAM FOLLOWERS WITH ECCENTRIC STUD came with spring washers.

Fit
The tolerance of mounting holes for IKO CAM FOLLOWERS and IKO CAM FOLLOWERS WITH ECCENTRIC STUD are as shown in Table 4. As they are cantilever-mounted, it is necessary to assemble so that no play can accur between the stud and mounting holes, especially in places where there is shock load.

The track capacity shown in table 5 is the value when the outside diameter of the cam follower's outer ring comes in contact with the surface of its steel companion parts having the hardness HRC40 (tensile strength 127 kgf / mm²). These values express the allowable load which can be continuously carried without deformation and brinelling on the track of the companion parts. If the hardness of the track of the companion parts is other than HRC40, values can be attained by multiplying the track capacity factor shown in table. Even when the track capacity is larger than the basic static load rating Co, a load larger then Co should not be put on the bearing.

Clamping torque
Stud of IKO CAM FOLLOWER and IKO CAM FOLLOWER WITH ECCENTRIC STUD takes bending stress caused by the bearing load, so the maximum clamping torque of the threads should be no more than the values shownr in the dimension table.

Mounting
It is necssary to be mounted that the center line of the stud should be positioned at right angles to the moving direction of the cam and to back up bearing side washer firmly to flat shoulder. Then the cam follower is fixed with a nut. If there is a possibility that the screw becomes loose during the opration due to the condi- tions of use, a locking nut, spring washer or special locking not is to be used, In this mounting care must be taken that the shoulder diameter (clamping diameter) of mounting holes must be as larger than, the minimum clamping diameter "f" shown in the diension table. The IKO mark on the side stud flange represents the position of the oil hole on the raceway surface and when mounting,it is needed to ensure that the oil holes does not enter the loaded zone. The vertical hole in the middle of stue is used for re-greasing or locking the stud. The following poins should also be taken into account when mounting IKO CAM FOLLOWERS WITH ECCENTRIC STUD:

  1. Lengthen the mounting hole by 0.3 mm more than the G value (Eccentric collar width) shown in the dimensiontable.
  2. Use speing washers whin fixed thr studs and tighen with nuts. Adjustment to The position of the outer ring can be made by using the screwdriver slot in the stud head and turning. When tighteing with the nut do not go outside the maximum ciamping torque range shown in the dimension table, or else the adjusted position of the outer ring will move.
  3. When shock load is applied and more an accurate positioning than provided by clamping nut is required, it is recommened that the housing the eccentric collar and the stud are drilled at the same time to fix with dowel pin. Please not that the all surface of studs are hardened in smoller sizes than CF 8 and CR 12.
